Hughes Middle School and Longfellow Elementary will hold a free e-waste collection and document shredding event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21 at Longfellow Elementary, 3800 Olive Avenue, Long Beach.
Long Beach residents and businesses can safely and securely dispose of two types of waste in one simple trip. Donations of plastic bottles and aluminum cans will also be accepted.
E-waste collection will be provided by E-Recycling of California. Shredding services will be provided by Sergeant Shredder, a licensed on-site shredding service.
The event is a project of the Hughes and Longfellow Green Teams, made up of middle and elementary school students, teachers, and parents, who volunteer their time to green their campuses through recycling, waste reduction programs and water-wise landscaping projects.
